Installing PolyMon

I'm trying to install the PolyMon in my WinXP with SQL Express2005 installed. I've created the database and enabled the "Using TCP/IP and named pipes" option in the remote connections. And I still got error 40 message "Named pipe provider: Could not open a connection to SQL server" when I start the PolyMon. Are there any steps I need to take?

Have you checked the connection strings in the config files for Manager and Executive?
These need to be set up with the appropriate connection settings to connect to your sql server.
The default connection strings should work as long as your sql server is local to PolyMon manager/executive and was named PolyMon but still double check what they are set at. Other possibility could be that you installed SQL Express using a named instance (in which case this would have to be reflected in your connection string).

The following is a good starting point to troubleshoot such issues:

Let me know if this helped or not.
