Executive service won't start

I have installed polymon on windows server 2003 with SQL server Express 2005.  I had to create the DB manually and run the install script for it.  I have multiple instances of SQL db on this machine (probably the problem...).  When I start the polymon service, I get the windows message "The polymon executive service on local computer started and then stopped.  Some service stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service." I have tried the following 3 things in the connection string:

1.  value="Data Source=localhost\SQLExpress
2.  value="Data Source=localhost
3.  value="Data Source=.\SQLEXpress

The SQL manager on the server reports it as servername\SQLExpress.

If I try to run teh manager, I get the icon in teh system tray and then it disappears after a few seconds.

Any help would be appreciated!

You are right that it is probably related to a connection string issue.
This page provides a good troubleshooting starting point:

Also, you may want to check the event logs to see if PolyMon is providing additional information about the problems it is encountering. Those kind of issues are typically logged to the event log, so another good place to look.
